Abstract
This work concentrates on the application of the finite element simulation and an experimental program for the composite cantilever plates. The mechanical properties of the models were used to manufacture plates with different aspect ratios and thicknesses. The used models include different aspect ratios of carbon fiber materials and Kevlar composites. In the numerical simulation, the ANSYS package was used to simulate the cantilever plates to obtain the natural frequencies and mode shapes using the mechanical properties obtained experimentally for both types of materials. The findings indicate a strong correlation between the plate geometry and the mode shapes. This gives a deeper understanding of the behavior of the cantilever composite plates and the boundary conditions used.
